The Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) approved road development projects worth Rs 161.7 million in Chichawatni, Sahiwal. These projects include a 10 km long road from Kasowal to a village that will connect Iqbalnagar and Bura Road and will provide convenience to the locals. Upgradation of Okaainwala Road from railway station to Murtaza Shaheed Park and converting G.T road into a one-way lane is also included in these development projects.  Furthermore, four additional road projects have also been approved.

Roads make a significant contribution to economic development and growth. Furthermore, they provide access to employment, health, social, and education services that make a road network pivotal in fighting against poverty. Road infrastructure is the most significant financial asset for society and the economy for those reasons. Focusing on road development projects will bring extensive benefits that will preserve current assets and future costs for citizens, taxpayers, and road owners.

Given the importance of infrastructure development, the incumbent government has seen a current increase in public infrastructure spending. Infrastructure plays a vital role in the advancement of the country. Roads and transport facilities increase transportation of goods and services that significantly enhance the economy and reduce poverty by creating employment opportunities for citizens. A boost in infrastructure and road projects has a pragmatic impact on the commercial property sector. People get attracted to places where community facilities are being developed, giving rise to long-term capital growth and higher housing prices.
