World Animal Day is celebrated to raise awareness about the deteriorating standards of living for animals around the globe. Also known as Animal Lovers Day, the day reminds people to show care and affection towards speechless creatures who are unable to voice their needs.

The day also underlines the consequences of human, industrial, and business activity on animals and represents a global event that encourages animal protection movement by opening rescue shelters, launching animal welfare campaigns and more.

Governments and businesses must make the world a safe space for animals and commit themselves to the cause of animal welfare. Graana.com, Pakistan’s first online real estate marketplace, in collaboration with the ICT administration, has recently launched its animal welfare campaign called “Ghar Sab ke liye” to encourage the inclusion of animals in society. The campaign aims to prevent the killing of stray dogs and animals in the federal capital while lobbying for animal rights at the policy level.
