This initiative has been taken to focus on women empowerment particularly, providing them job opportunities like freelancing while remaining in their homes.

Recently, a software technology park has been inaugurated in Rawalpindi, the Amazon Software Technology Park. This project is a joint venture between Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and Amazon mall. It covers an area of 44,000 square feet, providing state-of-the-art facilities to the tech industry under one roof. The technology park will provide high-speed internet at subsidised rates and will also provide space to the IT professionals and companies on rent.

At present, the Government is taking all possible steps to enhance and strengthen the local Information Technology (IT) Industry. These efforts will increase access to technology in small towns and cities and will give registration fee waivers to companies and startups of underdeveloped areas. Currently, the telecom industry of Pakistan is fully regulated and provides access to the internet in more than 2,000 cities while the total number of internet users is about 107 million. The Government of Pakistan is very ardent about the advancement and development of the technology industry. The digital growth of the industry is going through a rapid revolution as the tech exports have increased 70% during the last years.
