The Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA) is ready to start work on setting up the Islamabad Technopolis. The authority is in concept to establish the Technopolis on 140 acres of land adjacent to the National Institute of Health (NIH) Colony near Chak Shehzad. The Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA) was formed to provide support for the development of the national technology sector that works towards developing a technology-driven knowledge ecosystem, encouraging modern innovative solutions and futuristic entrepreneurship in the country.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) handed over the land and the layout plan of the technopolis to STZA. However, after the approval of its layout plan, the authority will move forward towards starting construction.
Islamabad Technopolis will act as a stimulus for enhancing technology experts of Pakistan and will attract Foreign Direct Investment and job opportunities in the technology sector. This technopolis is expected to be the first choice for global tech companies and expatriates due to its state-of-the-art technology-supportive infrastructure and lucrative tax incentives. Given the importance of the Technology sector, the authority is currently working for the establishment of 14 Special Technology Zones (STZs) across the country to benefit the country’s economy and IT industry. Such initiatives transform Pakistan into a knowledge-based economy by fostering innovation, research and development that will enable the youth of Pakistan to take the lead in the country’s development.
