Capital Development Authority (CDA) has collaborated with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to set up a new industrial estate in Islamabad. The leadership of both organizations has expressed interest in completing the project to attract investments and boost employment in the local economy.

The ICCI is responsible for the creation of a holistic and comprehensive proposal for a new industrial estate in Islamabad. The CDA will be responsible for bringing in different government authorities and departments on board. According to representatives of ICCI, the proposal will be submitted to CDA by 15th November.

CDA can play a pivotal role in solving the most pressing issues facing the industrial and business community of the capital city. According to CDA, the establishment of a new industrial estate in the capital would attract new investment opportunities, boost industrialization, and generate employment for the local community.

CDA has time and again highlighted the problems faced by businesses in the lease renewal of industrial plots. ICCI and CDA will work together to ensure the industrial plots are leased through a transparent process. Moreover, if the CDA allows the bifurcation of large industrial plots, it will become convenient for small industries to establish their operations.
