The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to acquire land in villages of Zone-III of the Federal Capital. Zone-III includes the area of Margalla Hills and the National Park. The civic body is supposed to acquire land for development purposes. Under the CDA Act 1960, the concerned authority has addressed that people will be allowed to sell their land to CDA whenever they want but they cannot sell it to private buyers.

Recently, the Civic Agency has launched a comprehensive campaign to clean up Margalla Hills National Park in partnership with civil society, students, and environmentalists. The Concerned Authority has also developed a new walking trail in the village area of Margalla Hills to protect the beautiful site of the area.

Back in August, Islamabad High Court banned all kinds of construction activity in Margalla Hills and villages near it to remove encroachments. The Civic Agency started an anti-encroachment operation in these areas and started a plantation drive as these areas were not reserved for construction.

The Government is making efforts to boost Margalla Hills’s appearance and new projects are also coming to the concerned area which will be based on the International Standard of Luxury.
