The Capital Development Authority will start its metro bus services as a trial from Peshawar Mor to Islamabad International Airport (IIA) from March 15 onwards. Currently, the metro bus operates on a single straight route from Saddar in Rawalpindi to Pak secretariat in Islamabad. Now the government wants to diversify the routes to increase the commute for people starting from Peshawar Mor, all the way to the international airport.
Cheap and affordable public transport is scarce in most metropolitan cities of Pakistan. A major population travels from Rawalpindi to Islamabad for several reasons such as employment and education. Although the metro bus project was established in 2013 as an affordable transportation option, the metro system still does not cover the majority of the routes between the two cities. The recent addition of the Peshawar to IIA is predicted to help people.
