Cement Sales Growth

The cement sector in Pakistan has observed exponential growth of 41% in a single year. According to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local cement sales in May 2021 stood at 3.2 million tonnes whereas cement sales last year at the same time were around 2.27 million tonnes.

The increase in cement sales is a result of easing lockdown restrictions as construction businesses resume. Previously, the government introduced various subsidies and incentives for the construction industry to boost employment and economic growth. Since the construction sector is connected to 50 allied industries, therefore, a growth in this sector is parallel to the growth in the allied industries like cement as well.
