The government has introduced a web portal, Pakistan Single Window (PSW), to facilitate domestic manufacturers and traders exploring import and export markets worldwide. It is an initiative of the federal government to transform Pakistan’s trade and industrial ecosystem.

The portal will hold information related to the top 25 global markets, including the US, the UK, Germany, and China. The portal is being developed to comply with Pakistan’s commitment to the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and uses a toolkit designed by the World Bank

The PSW holds up-to-date trade-related information such as regulatory requirements, statutory regulatory orders (SROs), tax rates applicable in Pakistan, and export destinations. It contains information about 40,000 items from 77 government agencies that are completely digitized and can be accessed online. It will help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) access global markets for their products. The website will provide exclusive information to facilitate overseas Pakistanis travelling in and out of the country. A separate page will guide non-resident Pakistanis about the regulatory requirements and applicable tax rates on products that frequently move between Pakistan and the host countries of the expatriates. Its main purpose is to enhance the predictability and transparency of Pakistan’s business environment and allow foreign and domestic investors quick and timely access to trade rules and regulations.
