The National Highway Authority’s (NHA) revenue increased by Rs99 billion in the first three years of the current government. In the revenue collection, the amount recovered from the accountability is about Rs24.2 billion, Rs1 billion through austerity, and Rs5 billion is reclaimed from state-owned land.

The National Highway Authority (NHA) is responsible for the development and maintenance of highways and strategic roads and provides a safe, modern, and efficient transportation system in the country. It has key importance in the micro and macro economy and improves National integration through increasing the social and economic dependence between the provinces.

The NHA has received a 124.50% toll due to the prudent policies of the present government. This entire toll collection by the NHA is being spent on the construction of new and maintenance of the old roads networks. The Highway Authority has completed a 1654km road project and is currently working on a 6117km long road project.

The NHA is constructing motorways and national highways based on a Public-Private Partnership to reduce the burden on the national exchequer to make the construction of roads and their maintenance procedure transparent. The National Highway Authority (NHA) has been working out on further extensive road development projects including bridges, flyovers, and interchanges and has expected to increase its toll revenue from the previous administration.
