Pakistan railway has arranged a special steam engine train to revive tourism activities in the country. The train runs from Rawalpindi to Attok city and Nowshera, in which a tour of different stations and information is provided to the tourists. Best arrangements in this train are provided to facilitate the travellers. This new train enables tourists to explore the cultural heritage of Pakistan as well as many historical places of Attock city and Nowshera. Another tourist train was also launched by the current government which travels from Golra to Attock city.

In the past few years, both the public and private sectors have taken measures to revive tourism in Pakistan. The present government has been passionate about promoting tourism, as it would help portray the country’s soft image and help generate revenue.

The transport sectors, especially rail, play a vital role in the socio-economic development of any country. Over the last few decades, Pakistan Railways has not been on track because of the multi-faceted challenges of poor governance, political interference, corruption, inadequate human capital, poor infrastructure, and huge deficits preventing it from running efficiently. Thus, to revive the fame of Pakistan Railways, the current government has developed a vision named “Vision 2025” that aims to improve the share in the transportation sector from 4% to 20% by 2025. With the efforts of the incumbent government, the railway industry has improved its service quality and usage of railways has also increased.
