Prime Minister to appoint Officers to Facilitate Overseas Pakistanis

To facilitate overseas Pakistanis and to address their problems in countries abroad, the Prime Minister has directed 39 federal divisions to appoint facilitating officers. According to the PM Delivery Unit, the appointed officers will be above BPS (Basic Pay Scale) of 18. The Prime Minister has directed the establishment of 34 sub-departments under 13 different ministries to facilitate overseas Pakistanis. In addition, the federal departments have been advised to share the update of this initiative with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, and Human Resource Development, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for effective dissemination to the Pakistani diaspora living abroad.

Recently, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi launched the “FM Portal” for overseas Pakistanis living in almost every country around the world. The FM portal aims to provide effective solutions to potential problems overseas Pakistanis’ face. To project a positive image of Pakistan, Foreign Minister urged envoys to promptly address the issues of the 9 million Pakistani diasporas living abroad.
