The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is the main municipal authority that deals with the urban development work in the Rawalpindi district. With the announcement of the federal budget and subsequent development expenditure allocation to the provinces, budgets have also been finalized at the district level.

Recently, RDA finalized its budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 which is worth Rs. 2.3 billion with Rs. 1.98 billion allocated for development works. The funds for all the development work have been derived from the provincial budget.

RDA plans to prioritize paying the salaries of its workers and other expenditures on an immediate basis. This year, RDA has imposed no new tax because it has increased the building plan fee for residential and industrial plots and apartments by 50%. This would provide RDA with a substantial revenue stream that would help in meeting the organization’s current expenditure.
