Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are an integral part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The four SEZs are Rashakai M-1 SEZ, Dhabeji SEZ, Allama Iqbal Industrial City Faisalabad and Bostan Balochistan. According to the Board of Investment (BOI), these four SEZs are estimated to generate 1.47 million jobs. 475,000 of these jobs will be direct, and 1,000,000 will be indirect all across the country.

Currently, the progress on these SEZs is in full force. They will not only boost employment but also ramp up local industries which will lead to sustainable future economic growth.

The special economic zones will cover a diverse portfolio of economic activities ranging from textiles and garments to electronics and automobiles. Almost every other industrial activity is endorsed under these SEZs.
